Sunday
School
Sunday School classes for children age 3 through 5th grade are offered at
9:30AM. We offer age-appropriate scripture based Bible lessons using the
Rock
Solid Sunday School Curriculum, taught by well-trained, dedicated teachers.
Nursery (up to age 3)
A screened, trained staff provides loving care to newborns and toddlers each
Sunday during the 9:30AM and 11:00AM worship services.
The children enjoy a story, music time, and a snack in a peanut-free environment.
To provide security for the children and peace of mind for the parents, a
label and numbering system is used to ensure each child is released to the
person responsible for their care. A paging system is also available.
Children and Worship (ages 4-7)
Children and Worship is a special program that presents a joyful way for young
children ages 4 through 7 to worship God. A unique storytelling format and the
use of multi-sensory materials invite children to experience the wonder and mystery
of God. Biblical stories and parables are presented through the use of wooden
figures and other materials to create a worship environment that cultivates the
imagination and invites children to fall in love with God. This program meets
in the Green Room during the 11:00 worship service.
Children's Music Ministry
There are a number of opportunities for children to get involved in New Hope's
Music Ministry. Regular events include Christmas and Easter programs.
Check
with the Director of Music Ministry for more details.
Special Needs Ministry
We at New Hope recognize the importance for all families to be able to worship
in a comfortable, safe, and secure setting. We also place a high value on all
children. Therefore, we provide a program designed for families with children
who have special needs. Our coordinator for this program is highly trained and
totally committed to providing the best care possible so that all families may
come to worship knowing their children will be cared for with respect, dignity,
and love.
Acolytes (5th- 8th grade)
Serving as an acolyte allows youth to be involved in our worship services, helping to create an atmosphere of celebration and praise. An acolyte begins our service by bringing the "Light of Christ" into the sanctuary and carries it out "into the world" at the end of the service. A four session training class to learn about our worship service, the Christian church year, commitment and service is offered every year for those youth interested in becoming one of God's lamplighters.
