Ski trip

Senior High Ski Trip takes place each year on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Our youth head to Holiday Valley ski resort in New York state for skiing, snow boarding, and fun. We rent a house near the slope, where we hangout in the evenings. Here we cook our own food, play games and have devotions. Holiday Valley is one of our best weekend trips.

Middle School Ski Trip takes place each year on President's Day weekend. Youth head to Mad River Mountain ski resort in Ohio for a full day of skiing, snow boarding and tubing. After a long day of fun, we return to church for an overnight lock-in for more fun, food and games.

Mission trip

Each summer, Senior High youth (incoming freshman and graduating seniors) can spend several days "living their faith" through a mission trip organized to help those who are less fortunate. The rewards are great. The youths work together - often painting, cleaning, doing construction or just "fixing things up" - for people who need helping hands, and prayer. Past trips have taken us to Noxen, PA, Clincho, WV, Dunganion, VA, and Dulce, NM. Each trip also includes a "free day" from work to go canoeing, whitewater rafting, to an amusement part or to other local attractions.

Money raised from our annual two-day "garage sale" typically funds these trips, which always are accompanied by more than a dozen church adults and family members.

Genesis Senior High Retreat

On even numbered years, our senior high youth travel to Traverse City, Michigan. Weekend activities include nationally known speakers, bands, a talent show, Euchre tournament, and inflatable games. Youth share this weekend of spiritual growth with 2,000 other teenagers at the Grand Traverse Resort.

Camp

The Synod of the Great Lakes, Reformed Church in America, has developed Cran-Hill Ranch in Rodney, MI, for the glory of God. Camp programs promote family and Christian fellowship in an atmosphere conducive to spiritual and physical development.

Each year, New Hope Middle School youth can attend camp at a reduced cost - thanks to fund-raisers and financial help from the church. Scholarships are also available. For details about this year's schedule, contact Donna Filson or Bob Cline.

Fundraising

Our youth programs is enhanced by the following fund raising mechanisms:

Favor Auctions take place in the fall. With these, youth and congregation members donate goods and service, ranging from cultural dinners to babysitting, to be bid on.

Kroger Cards offer an easy way to support the youth program by simply buying groceries. Click here for more information on how your purchases at Kroger can earn Community Rewards dollars for New Hope's Youth Group.

Mexican Fiesta Dinner is held each winter. Middle and High School youth transform the church into a restaurant and enjoy an evening of greeting and serving all those who attend. Dinners include salad bar, entry, beverages, and dessert. Come join us for good food and fellowship for a good cause. Watch for details in early 2011.

After Service Brunches coincide with New Member Sundays for a time of welcoming new members. Pancakes, sausage, fruit and coffee are served by our youth. The congregation can grab a quick bite while visiting with old and new friends.

The New Hope Garage Sale takes place each spring. This event attracts people from miles around central Ohio. This two-day event is our largest fund raiser. Watch for details in Spring 2010.
